We’ve had quite a number of Mums & daughters visit us already looking for Year 10 & Year 12 Formal outfits. We know how stressful it can be for parents trying to budget for Formals & for students trying to select their perfect outfit while studying or doing exams. We hope that our new ‘Save your Formal’ concept will make things easier & more fun for you & your Mum.

Book a free ‘Save your Formal’ appointment anytime before June 30th 2012 by emailing us at gssydney@nightmachines.net. You & your Mum can book a time to come in & have the whole shop to yourselves while you try on the ensembles you think you’ll want to wear at your Formal. We’ll set up your own personal ‘Formal Savings’ account, Formal LookBook & Quote Notes so that you know what you’re aiming for. You can make small deposits into your special Formal Savings account over the year so that by the time your Formal comes around your perfect outfit has been ordered and paid for. To sweeten the deal we will top up your initial deposit on full ensembles with a nice $20*

Merry Festivus to all our wonderful customers! Our opening hours at our Enmore, Sydney store are as follows:

Christmas Eve, 24th Dec. 10.30am to 5pm, Christmas Day closed, Boxing Day Mon 26th closed, Tues 27th Dec. closed.

We re-open on Wed 28th Dec 10am to 6pm, Thursday 29th 10am to 8pm, Friday 30th 10 t0 6pm, Sat 31st (NYEve) 10.30am to 5.30pm

Closed New Years Day 1st January, re-open on Tuesday 2nd January.

GS \’Neo-Victorian Circus\’ Collection for Lunarmorph 2010, Enmore Theatre

Lunarmorph is the alternative fashion show of Under the Blue Moon Festival and was held in 2010 as a featured event of the Sydney Fringe Festival.

Studio Serpentine provided the live sound track, an adaptation of ‘Metal’ by the god father of analogue synth music, Gary Numan. Played predominantly on analogue synths it provided a great sound track for the Serpentine circus themed collection. All outfits are now available at Gallery Serpentine, Enmore or by custom ordering. For one day only the store window of iconic Gallery Serpentine will be the construction ground of a Steampunk Biomechanical Woman, as Ratchet, the brand ambassador of Gallery Serpentine and co-founder of the Serpentine Laboratories, is transformed from mad scientist to android by the talented Jessica Watson Miller of Art Kinetica.

Jessica has just won the Singles Title in the Australian Body-Art competition. This transformation will use the fashion of Gallery Serpentine, the Steampunk gadgetry and accessories of URBANDON and the amazing products of Illamasqua’s Art of Darkness collection.

Additionally the walls of Gallery Serpentine will be lined with photographs of the Steampunk-themed body-art of Jessica and photography of Cat Sweeny, who will be shooting live throughout the day. This is a free event as part of the GS in-store event calendar.

Gallery Serpentine is proud to announce that we’ve been selected to stock Akubra dress hats. This Australian company has been operating for 130 years and has a fascinating & endearing history that not many people know about. Prior to 1950 it was ‘the dress hat’ maker for Australia, it was only after 1950 that the focus shifted to ‘Australiana’ styles. It is the classic styles with names like ‘Bogart’ & ‘Adventurer’ that we will be stocking to compliment our neo-Victorian & vintage inspired ranges.
